Documentary Review – Ray Ives

After browsing Vimeo for sometime looking for a documentary that would keep me entertained and Interested, I found myself drawn to this Documentary by Amanda bluegrass. The documentary is about Ray Ives who is now 75 but spent his whole career diving in out of the sea collecting valuable treasures and antiques, Based around a Participatory Mode.

Ray tells us a lot about his artefacts he has uncovered and his experiences when he was a young professional diver. I feel the use of slow shots was a tad overdone for example the underwater shots could have been a bit more varied.

  1. Matt,

Its an interesting piece you choose and you make some salient points about its style – you were critical on certain part but could have gone into more depth. Is it really the Participatory Mode – is it driven by the filmmaker? They seems to be other modes here…..

  2. There seem to be other modes here….
